ABB LINE DIFFERENTIAL PROTECTION AND CONTROL RED615 IEC NUMERICAL RELAY
Line differential protection and control RED615 ANSI IEC Numerical relay
Compact and versatile solution for utility and industrial power distribution systems RED615 is a phase-segregated, two-end, line differential protection and control relay for protection, control, measurement and supervision of overhead line and cable feeders in utility and industrial power distribution networks, including radial, looped and meshed distribution networks, with or without distributed generation. RED615 is also ideal for line differential applications with an in-zone transformer. RED615 relays communicate between substations either over a fiber-optic link or a galvanic pilot wire connection.
Compact and versatile solution for utility and industrial power distribution systems with integration of protection, control, monitoring and supervision in one relay.
Scope
Feeder protection including communicating two-end line differential

- IEEE 1588 V2 for high-accuracy time synchronization and maximum benefit of substation-level Ethernet communication
- Supports Modbus, and DNP3 and communication protocols
ABB Numerical relays
ABB Numerical relays are based on the use of microprocessors.?A big difference between conventional electromechanical and static relays is how the relays are wired. Electromechanical and static relays have fixed wiring and the setting is manual. Numeric relays, on the other hand, are programmable relays where the characteristics and behavior can be programmed. Most numerical relays are also multifunctional.
Scope
- Modern protection relays
- Multifunctional protection
Product benefits
- Provide continuity?of power to consuments
- Protection of network assets
